North California Arts Collective (NCAC) kicks off its grand opening to the theater community by bringing us a journey into the American History of Juke Joints, Jukeboxes and the music and artists that inspired its lifestyle. Come and be whisked away with a world premiere production called Juke Joint Jukebox. A non-stop, highly entertaining night of cabaret style music, historical discussion and an unrelenting cast of talented actors!
Juke Joint Jukebox pays homage to the lineage of Gary Stanford Jr (Creator/Director), and hopes to present a slice of history you may find challenged to learn in standard academia. His grandmother and her brother spent many years making a living behind the closed doors of adult-only entertainment Juke Joints of the east coast. Gary’s show takes a look at the originations of Juke Joints as created on slave plantations of the 1500s and 1600s of early America.
Bay Area born Actor/Director/Choreographer/Computer Engineer, Gary Stanford Jr, helms a phenomenal team of local actors Kymi Amour, Joe Hudelson, Minna Rogers, Melissa Gialdini, Leslie Ivy-Louthaman, James Creer, Jonah Price, William Vaughn Hester, Arielle Rothman, and Poshh Demetri. Benjamin Sakaguchi serves up his piano brilliance to accompany the show. Jon Rosen offers his services via Landmark Musicals to assist with sound, lighting and house management.
