The Rules of the Game is brought to us by Seiche Productions and is the premiere performance of our new Lighthouse Program!
Five teens begin a game of Truth or Dare; as the game progresses, it becomes apparent that they’re in a migrant internment camp and that the stakes of their game are far higher than they’d guessed.
Seiche Productions is doing this play for free for as long as the United States is detaining migrant children in abusive circumstances. Each performance will raise awareness and, if possible, funds for the non-governmental organizations working to help these children. Seiche’s mandated reporters are sickened by our country engaging in widespread child abuse; as theatre people, we hope to make some kind of impact by yelling about the situation as loudly as we can.
Seiche Productions creates theatre and published works that seek to push us to deeper understanding and greater empathy. Past shows have included a play about environmental destruction that took place on a beach that faces past and future degradation, an award-winning piece about alienation and punks, a set of works that looked at America one year after 9/11, and more. Published works include poetry collections about environmental issues.
You can’t make waves if you never try to.
